Manny Pacquiao Museum in South Reclamation Project – Cebu.
Yes! This is the headline of one local newspaper in Cebu. The idea was raised by Mayor Thomas Osmeña honoring the great pound-for-pound boxer of the world, Pambansang Kamao of the Philippines, world’s greatest boxer of the era, etc.
Mayor Thomas Osmeña said that he was so proud of the achievements of Manny. Imagine, the first in history in the world of boxing to bag seven (7) world boxing titles – flyweight (112 pounds), super bantamweight (122 lb), featherweight (126 lb), super featherweight (130 lb), lightweight (135 lb), and light welterweight (140 lb) divisions and just last fight with Cotto, WBO welterweight belt (147 lbs).
Let us look back at the last fight of Pacquiao with the former WBO welterweight champion, Miguel Cotto. Below is the standing/scoring :
Total Punches
Pacquiao : 336 / 780 – 43%
Cotto : 172 / 597 – 29%
Jabs
Pacquiao : 60 / 220 – 27%
Cotto : 79 / 297 – 27%
Power Punches
Pacquiao : 276 / 560 – 49%
Cotto : 93 / 300 – 31%
So much for it! Let’s go back to the museum!
Mayor Osmeña said that he would like to build a P100 million- Pacquiao Musuem that includes souvenir shop that will sell memorabilia of all Pacquiao’s fight and other related things – a tourist destination.
Osmeña will discuss this matter to Manny Pacquiao, he also stressed that this project would benefit not only Cebu but as well Pacquiao since a share will be given from the income it will generate.
Another thing Osmeña also mentioned was that he’d like to offer Pacquiao’s coach, Freddie Roach, Filipino citizenship if ever he will be elected as Congressman next year.
Manny Pacquiao Museum in Cebu, great idea!
