Simala Church
Just this morning, I received a comment from a reader. He searched for the keyword “simala monks scandal” in yahoo SE and landed on my post Scandal at Simala Shrine, Cebu.
I was notified by yahoo messenger that I have a new comment from my blog. 2 Consecutive notice popping out. I directly accessed my DashBoard page in WORDPRESS blog and found two identical comments – very long. I found it very controversial and so I “unapproved” it. He even include his mobile number for me to contact him. I ask him if could post it and he replied:
“I hope that my comment could help. Since it is my way to let people know. I don’t want to keep silent anymore.”
He even texted me that he’s trying to Cardinal Vidal and leaving a message to my blog is his first step.
And so let me share his letter/message to you guys.

no need for to hide myself because what i also want to share is true connected to the allegations. 1st i was a former aspirant at Simala Monastery around february this year & i got pictures to prove thar i was there. 2nd, i know there is truly a miracle happening there. The events are speaking for itself. 3rd, why i left the said cult because of Money, Laxisity in the rule of silence, the observance of chasity that is…watch tv on sundays all night long neglecting prayer, Yes, count money instead of praying the Divine Office, More work with no more moderation. The Blessed Sacrament isn’t changed monthly replaced by a new host. Because the presence of Christ in the eucharist depends on the substance of the bread. Cardinal knows that these monks don’t know a lot of these things. They always talked non-sense, don’t go to confession frequently, don’t encouraged Lectio Divinna or any spiritual reading. (Goodthing when i was there i was able to convince them to let me read The life of St. Therese) The Church or the oratory should be a place of silent retreat for yearning souls but if you see it is not aside from the pilgrims lining to the Virgin. But during mass, the monks don’t sometimes participate. They only receive communion. for some, yes but mostly not especially to Fter Joseph who is an extern and the one whom we see when we enter the oratory. A monk sitting & welcoming guest. in other monasteries they usually do this in a receivbing area or a guesthouse. But rarely can they be seen.during prayer, an ordinary monk is in choir with his brothers. Weither there are guest or not God comes first. But in Simala? they don’t.They sell inside the Church. Remember if we read in the gospel Christ threw all those stuff because they made his Father’s house a market place & a place of thieves like the over-priced articles and candles. Too much, occassion even the projects they do yet they don’t even gave much to what is holy. Eucharistic Apostolate should be their first priority. They never ask or begged but because of money i believe what turned out to be holy is now belongs to the Devil. That’s why i felt the absence of the Divine. I beg Pardon before God & Our Lady for this…if this helps so be it. This needs action. I have once tried in other orders but no comment i will say against them because they may not be contemplatives but they are truly religious. to compare them with an old lady wearing a red scapular. they are far from advancement. These ladies like our grandparents have much time for prayer than them. i’m disappointed at them. They have promising rules but 0 in the the making. They should not just go back into the roots but by the assistance of Holy Mother the Church’s wisdom be terminated or be under other orders that have marian-eucharistic roots for those worthy of such a calling. Nasasayangan ako sa mga nandoon at yung mga wala na doon. people who enter there wants to be with God. Yet, have turned their back on that call because of their bad examples. for me, no harassment had happen & they have hospitalities yes! i was even happy going with the Virgin with Ftr. Martin to The Metroplitan Cathedral last february 22 1 week b4 i left. But if i didn’t maintain my prayerlife? i would have gone thru the sameway those who now are in a state of trauma. i’m disappointed too, once in feruary 10,2009 i wasn’t able to go to Mass on that day because we monks were slaughtering a hog. Monks & religious never missed mass no matter how a work is left undone. i tried to explain this but i was turned down. so, i left with another reason. afraid still but now my silence ends here with the truth now crying out to be reveaLed. thank you for reading my mail…you can contact me thru the email add i have…Pax!
