Swine flu or the pandemic infuenza H1N1 has now been reported in over 170 countries and territories worldwide – according to the latest update of World Health Organization.
As part of awareness campaign, Dutch researchers had come up to this very creative idea. They designed a game wherein players are to control new kind of pandemic. They called the game “The Great Flu“.
The game begins in choosing a type of virus in the virus tree. Upon clicking on it, information will be displayed. At the game proper, a player is given a budget to use in controlling the spread of the virus. Pointing to a specific territory in the map, the player will able to see the statistics displaying the population, the number of infected people, the number of deaths etc.
At the left side corner of the interface you can see “actions”(distribute face mask, improve health care, etc) for a player to choose. At the upper right corner, global news are being displayed showing headlines of events. So it’s up for the player on how will he able to control the pandemic given a particular amount of budget.

When I tried to play the game, I did a hard time on it knowing you are to monitor the whole world. You are overseeing a lot of things like in distributing the budget for the right “action”.
Really hard!
Actually, I was not able to finish the game, so try it for yourself!
Aja!
